taking screen shot of virtual box vm

Post by ctc »

I'm working on some labs that use VirtualBox to install and manipulate several operating systems. I need to find a way to take a screen shot of just he VM to include in the lab document so the students see what their screen should look like. The usual Alt+prt sc does not work for the host (it does want to take a shot within the VM). Does anyone know how to get an image of the VM that can be pasted into photo editing software?

Host+E key or select Take Screenshot from the VirtualBox View menu.

There are three groups of people. Those that can count and those that can't.

Thanks, that worked; but the Take snapshot option is actually under the Machine menu item.
