Hi,
I am using a docking station and most of the time (I would say 80%) virtual box crashes when I undock.
I am using VB version 4.3.28 r100309 under windows 7 enterprise SP1.
I attached the logs in case it can help to investigate.
Best,
David

Re: Virtualbox crashes when undocking
This seems to be causing an issue. First I would try disabling the 3D acceleration and see if it helps.
Also note that giving the guest all of the CPU cores can lead to issues.
Research these suggestions and then when you have the answers raise a ticket at bugtracker

Re: Virtualbox crashes when undocking
Thanks for the quick reply.
So, I don't have 3D acceleration activated only 2D so can try to disable 2D.
Regarding cores I don't understand as I only allocated 2
(See image attached)
Thanks

Re: Virtualbox crashes when undocking
Your CPU has 2 cores and 4 threads. Try setting it to 1 CPU.thedavix wrote:

Re: Virtualbox crashes when undocking
Just to clearify. VirtualBox does not use threads and with hyper-threading it makes it appear that you have 4 cores and this is not true. That said I too have a test machine that has a core2 duo with hyper-threading and do allow the guest to use both cores. Normally I can get away with this unless I stress the guest and then try to use the host to do something. It is only a suggestion to see if you can isolate the cause to report.
For some reason the guest is invoking gl which is normally done with 3D acceleration but I guess it might be with 2D, I have never checked to be honest.

Re: Virtualbox crashes when undocking
Ok so without the 2D acceleration it seems it is working fine, 1 or 2 CPUs don't seem to be the problem.
I'll raise a ticket
Thanks for the help
