Unable to register Windows Phone on Windows 8.1 installed on

Hello everyone.

My situation is as follows:
  • I have VirtualBox 4.3.28 installed on Mac Mini (Late 2012)
    host's OS is Yosemite OS X 10.10.1
    guest's OS is Windows 8.1, 64 bits
The device I would like to register is Nokia 909, OS: Windows Phone 8.1
I can see my device in Windows' File Explorer after I enabled USB 2.0 EHCI Controller at VirtualBox's System>Ports>USB menu.

Anytime I try to register my phone via Windows Phone Developer Registration (8.1) tool I get status "Unable to connect to a phone. Make sure that the Windows Phone IP over USB Transport (IpOverUsbSvc) service is running".

I checked service status (in Administrative Tools>Services), it was already running. Then I tried with restarting that service, restarting the device, unplugging it and plugginng it into other USB port, tried with multiple USB cables, but every time I got the same status... Date & time on device are set correctly, I am careful that device is unlocked...

So, is there some detail that I haven't mentioned above that could cause my problem..?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Cheers

Did you create a USB filter for the phone? You didn't mention doing it.

just to double check, all the fields in the USB filter except the product and vendor IDs should be blank. And the phone shouldn't be plugged in until the Windows guest reached the desktop. I don't know it will work for certain but that's the generic method.
