Windows 10 - unable to change resolution

Hello all,

Using Virtualbox 4.3.28

I'm having trouble changing the resolution to my monitor's native resolution of 1920x1080 in my Windows 10 guest OS. I'm stuck at 1024x768.

So far I've tried:

-force installing the guest addons with admin privileges and compatibility for Windows 7. I think guest additions do not work properly for Windows 10?, from what I've read. This is why the driver reports non-functionality? (yellow exclamation)
-Making sure 2d and 3d acceleration are enabled. I've also tried with the options disabled.
-Full Screen. This results in 1024x768 with a black border.
-Manually adding the 1920x1080x32 resolution using vboxmanage setextradata. Checking with getextradata reports the desired resolution, but guest Windows 10 only shows 1024x768 as a resolution choice.

I've attached the guest log. I'd appreciate any ideas.
