Cannot Start XPPro on Virtual Box
Cannot Start XPPro on Virtual Box
Hi, I've been using Virtual Box to access XP Pro - which is the only system one of my old software programs will run on - with no problems for about 8 months. All of a sudden, today, when I tried to start it up, I received an error message saying "one or more virtual disks...is not available". It happens to be the hard drive I created, VirtualXPVHD.vhd. A sub-error message there says "could not open the medium C" and "unresolved error". I have no idea what happened, but this software program contains electronic forms for my business, and data inputs. How do I resolve this problem so that I can once again access XP Pro on Virtual Box - which normally takes me to the Desktop, where I can open the software program? I would very much appreciate if someone could provide some assistance. I am on hold until I can resolve this. Thank you.

Re: Cannot Start XPPro on Virtual Box
Look in File|Virtual Media Manager for the complete path to the file. Verify that the file is indeed not in that location. So where is it? Answer that question and the problem is almost solved.
The VHD is of course the virtual disk. If this file has been deleted (rather than moved, or the drive label changed) then the VM is gone unless you made a backup. VirtualBox doesn't delete files, so that would have to be user error.
