[Solved] Windows 8.1 x64 can't start

Post by DanoNH »

Having trouble getting Windows 8.1 x64 to start in VirtualBox 4.3.28 r 100309. Getting an error C4.

Tried with these settings on and off:
  • System > Motherboard > Enable EFI
  • System > Processor > Enable PAE/NX
I've attached the files requested... thanks for any help.

00:00:01.958271 Guest OS type: 'Windows8_64'
Set the guest OS type to Windows 8.1 64bit in the VM settings.

Thanks! I didn't see this in the drop down list when I set up the VM on just Win8 a long time ago, and now I was trying to use Win8.1 with the settings and a new hard disk...

Seems to have fixed the problem. :D

Thanks
