Problem of Macbook 2015 running Win7 with aero effect

Post by qw@qq.com »

Dear all,
I'm using the 2015 version 13 inch Macbook pro. After I installed the Win7 Professional and the complementary programs to this, I'm still not able to turn on the aero effect. I tried to use the tool in windows to do the diagnostics but it failed to do so. It just showed a message and said the graphic card couldn't support the aero effect, something similar like this.

Would there be anyone encountered the same problem as I did? I'm really expecting to get it resolved.
Happy to hear any suggestions or advices from you all!

Best,
Andreas

When you install the guest additions in the Windows 7 guest and it asks you if you want to install DirectX instead, choose no.

Hi, thank you for your tips. Would you mind to elaborate a little bit more about where I could find this selection part or such a menu. I just tried in both normal boot mode and safety boot mode to reinstall the guest addition, but there wasn't such a menu you mentioned popped up.

First, you do not want to install the guest additions is safe mode for Windows 7. With the guest running, when you choose "Insert Guest Additions CD Image…" from the VirtualBox "Devices" menu, it should ask you if you want to Run the guest additions installer. If it doesn't, you probably still have the .iso mounted, so you just dbl-click on WindowsGuestAdditions.exe from the "CD" in File Explorer.

Thank you very much with your patient answer! I tried as what you said, but there still wasn't any menu or pop up dialog that allowed me to do so. :(

the only difference is, check the Direct3D box. Make sure 2D and 3D are enabled in the display settings for your Windows guest.
