How do I start with a completely blank VMBob?

Post by MortR »

I removed VMBox and restarted it with the installer but it has all of my previous settings and programs. How do I install it so it is completely new?

Do you mean you want to get rid of existing VMs? If you want to get rid of data then you need to delete the data, not reinstall the software. E.g. reinstalling your PDF reader does not cause you to lose all your existing PDFs on your PC. We'd all be pretty angry if that happened.

In VirtualBox's case the default location for VMs (on Windows hosts) is <userdoc>\"VirtualBox VMs", and there are management files stored in <userdoc>\".VirtualBox". Both folders need to be emptied out. Remember to empty your recycle bin too. Of course VirtualBox should not be running when you do this.
