my network printer works great but sometimes it fail for about 5% of his print task... it shrink the text or simply miss a line and sometimes it print 90% on one page and 10% on the second page something that would have taken only 1 page. I scrap about 30 pages per weeks because the printer can't consistently print its not dramatic but its a massive waste of paper, time and ink.

I have searched the forum for similar issue and found nothing... anyone has any idea what can cause this kind of issue ? i have a normal window computer that never miss a print task.

I am on mac OS X, virtual box 4.3.12 r93733, guest: windows vista 64 bits, using a canadian accounting software called acomba.

Sounds like you have a network with a network printer, a Windows PC, a Mac, and a Windows Vista guest on the Mac. Your physical Windows PC prints fine, your Windows Vista guest has issues.

Is this a wired network, or wi-fi? Is the Mac able to print well? What OS is your physical Windows PC that prints well?

I had a somewhat similar issue trying to print to a Brother printer from a Windows 7 laptop thru wi-fi. The Brother printer was shared on the network from an XP PC. No Virtualbox involved. The XP printed fine, the laptop has issues printing reliably. Brother has not released Windows drivers for 7, so I had installed Vista drivers on the laptop. Was sometimey from the laptop.

Maybe you need newer drivers?

On another note I print just fine from my Windows guest on a Windows host at work, so It's not a systemic problem with Virtualbox as such, but there could be a problem with Virtualbox in your setup...
