Hello,
my WinXP VBox shutdown a little bit after startup, sometime it's possible to perform the logon
It work fine in safe mode, so I've search on event viewer but nothing is reported.
The image came from a physical PC using VCenter Converter.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I suspect this is probably caused by a driver incompatibility issue. Did you follow the xp migration wiki before imaging the Windows machine?

Is there a particular reason why you need to use a P2V version of XP rather than a fresh install as a VM? You could always keep the P2V disk as a secondary drive in case you want to get files off it.

Oh, and I would try to enable VT-x in your VM (your PC supports VT-x, but you currently have it disabled in your host BIOS). VT-x should make it run smoother.

And I would disconnect the host DVD drive from the VM, to make sure that isn't causing a problem.

I think so. In safe mode no particular drivers are shown. Due to an old software installed I prefer the P2V.
I'll try your suggestion and check again in safe mode: maybe the software/driver needed for the hardware key of the "ye olde software" is the problem.

Solved:
removed usb license key
enabled VTx
upgrade vbox to latest release
As WinXP complete startup I've log on and reinsert the usb key: it takes a while to update all usb driver but now everything works fine
Thanks!
