Trying To Connect Wi-fi With Kali Linux In VirtualBox

Hi, I'm new to VirtualBox and I'm trying to get my wi-fi connection working with Kali Linux. I've tried setting Network to NAT and Bridged Adapter with Promiscuous Mode set to Allow all, but keep getting this error when typing "ipconfig Wi-Fi name down". bash: ipconfig: command not found. What could be causing this?

Depends. How are you trying to connect kali to the adapter? Wired or wireless.
Guests don't see a wireless VBox adapter as they will see a wired connection. If you want kali to use the wireless adapter it must be a USB device and then it needs to be attached to the guest and the configuration would be done in the guest.

host = your PC
guest = other operating system installed in VirtualBox.
For USB wifi adapter to work you must install the extension pack and your user name must be in the vboxusers group on the host.
In a host terminal run this:
Code: Select all
sudo usermod -aG vboxusers <your username>
Replace <your username> with the name you use to log in. Type your user password when prompted.
Be sure to log off and back in to finalize the change in permissions

In vbox where exactly do I put this in?
In a host terminal run this:
CODE: SELECT ALL EXPAND VIEW
sudo usermod -aG vboxusers <your username>
Replace <your username> with the name you use to log in. Type your user password when prompted.
I take it I put it in Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager/ Settings/ Network, but I'm lost from there!
My Network settings say
Adapter 1
Enable Network Adapter, checked
Attached to: Bridged Adapter
Name: Wireless USB Adapter
Advanced
Adapter Type: Intel PRO/1000 MT Desktop (82540EM)
Promiscuious Mode: Allow All
MAC Address: ************`
Cable Connected, checked
I do not see where to put in that line?

Okay I tried it in root@kali:~# and this is what I get "usermod: group 'vboxusers' does not exist".
I wonder what I'm doing wrong?

you run the command on the host, not the guest.

Since this is not a Linux host my previous suggestions are not valid.
