Installed VB created machine and attempted to boot Mint 17 ISO. Get black screen with LinuxMint logo but does not boot to desktop to do the install on the VM.
Windows 7 64bit Ultimate edition. Running 32bit VB as there was no choice for 64bit. Downloaded Mint 17.1 32bit ISO. Booting form ISO in download folder.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Mint 17 on Windows 7 Host will not start
Re: Mint 17 on Windows 7 Host will not start
Thank you! That did it.
I enable virtualization and was able to create a 64bit machine and install the 64bit version of Mint. I am receiving a message indicating that video is in software rendering mode. What might be the cause?

Re: Mint 17 on Windows 7 Host will not start
you need to install the guest additions (in the guest) and enable 3D acceleration in the guest settings.
Re: Mint 17 on Windows 7 Host will not start
Thanks for the assistance. I was able to get it to start up and run by enabling virtualization in the Bios.

I also did install the additions and enabled 3D and 2D acceleration.
