Is microphone supported?

Post by bhaveshgoel07 »

Hello,
I had been using virtualbox to run windows 10 or android versions on my pc.
now that I wanted to record my voice on android and windows but I was not able to,
after some research I got to know that microphone is currently not supported with vbox.
So, my question is, Is microphone supported now in the new version?
I am running windows 7 x64

I believe that microphones are supported, however AFAIK you have to plug into Line-in on the host, not Mic-in.

I'm not sure the hardware nature of the microphone is relevant. Only the API it presents in the host OS. So, try it. But, I'd suspect it will not work if it would require you to select a non-default audio source on your host.

Of course as a USB device the VM could use the microphone directly, but I assume you didn't need to ask that.
