Hello.
Got it working now after some struggle
Because I write it down here I think better...
VirtualBox V5.04 beta and VM WIN10
base Win7-64b and ISO W10 32 bit
In the Lenovo W510 "vt-x" had to be enabled with bios setting
coldboot > wait for Lenovo logo > F1 > security > security chip = enable > Intel(R)TXT = disabled
F10 save after that W10 VM did start and W10 could be installed.
Next was install v5.04 extensions to support USB 1 2 3 twice the 1rst time it did not work.
V-BOX claims the USB devices with filter and then the Host W7 does no longer have access to it.
Possible this can be solved in the settings by sharing maps.
What I wanted W10 is to test if VisualBasic6 works again in W8 MS had the IDE disabled
It installed run's and the IDE of VB6 works like it does in W7
Some compatibility warnings in W8 the IDE would not work
success finally at first view.
The screen resolution restricted to 1600x1200 the host W510 has maximum FullHD 1920x1080
reasonable but not the optimal.
Also MOXA N-PORT has some issue that the W8 WHQL driver can find only the 1rst Port of 4
old post
I tried as many others to make a VM for Windows10 technical preview
My PC is Lenovo W510 12GB Win7-64b
VirtualBox-4.3.26-98988-Win.exe does not want to install
But Virtualbox 5 beta installed okay that is the one I use.
The next problem was the error:
vt-x is disabled in the bios for all cpu modes
VM could not start
This is a PC Bios setting in the Lenovo W510
a solution was given
coldboot >logo > F1 > security > security chip -> enable > Intel(R)TXT disabled
F10 save
after that W10 did boot with its logo
1 step further!
but then a blue screen RECOVERY
your PC/Device needs to be repaired
error code 0x0000260
press Enter to try again
press F8 for Startup Settings
and that's where the W10 story ends
I get exact the same screen with my W10 bootable HD
this must be a W10 Issue
The W10 bootable did work in the beginning but after an update of W10
it never booted again and gave the blue-screen
If anyone has solved this please tell me
In Youtube the demo shows that the W10 VM in Virtual box works nice...
thanks for reading
