already looked at that and reconfirmed #4, it isnt even an option for 64-bit under all the options.

Not sure what else to tell you. If VirtualBox can not see that you have enabled VMX or if you did not select 64-bit in the guest settings a 64-bit guest will not work.

hmm. yeah idk what else to do. vmware/hyper-v work perfectly fine for 64 bit but idk why VB is giving me trouble.Perryg wrote:Not sure what else to tell you. If VirtualBox can not see that you have enabled VMX or if you did not select 64-bit in the guest settings a 64-bit guest will not work.

Well maybe something else is using it. I know the link I sent you explains that. Did you read and understand it?
Hyper-v takes control of VMX at the core leve at boot and does not like others trying to use it. You would first need to remove hyper-v to release it.

if i "turn windows features on and off" to uncheck hyper-v does this do the same thing? because i did that prior to installing VBPerryg wrote:Well maybe something else is using it. I know the link I sent you explains that. Did you read and understand it?

Re: Not able to get 64 bit distro working with VB?
Code: Select all
00:00:01.952510 HMR3Init: Falling back to raw-mode: AMD-V is disabled in the BIOS (or by the host OS).I have heard of some that their BIOS settings were backwards. Meaning it had to be disabled to actually be on.
Others have upgraded their BIOS and fixed the issue.
If you can prove that the BIOS is working then you need to shut services down in the host until you find what is using it.
Re: Not able to get 64 bit distro working with VB?
ughhhhhhhhh. well i can try disabling it in the virus if this will make it enabled in the host. i guess ill look and see if theres a new version of my bios, ive flashed bios only once in my life. not something i like to do.. hahaPerryg wrote:Not much can be done from here.
