No virtualbox modules for Ubuntu hardy kernel

Post by wjlroe »

Ubuntu Hardy currently uses the following kernel version:
linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24-17-generic
But the latest virtualbox ubuntu repository (Gusty) only has packages for the previous kernel version:
virtualbox-ose-modules-2.6.24-16-generic

There is no virtualbox repository for hardy. When will these packages be provided?
Trying to use virtualbox in this state breaks a lot of things for some reason - all of Gnome's file browsing gets crippled, I'm not sure why this is.

Thanks

This is not something to ask here, as Sun does not provide the pre-build modules, only the source. The Ubuntu Devs are responsible for it. As that kernel is not yet on https://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/base/ it's likely that they are working on it. Be patient. Rome wasn't build in one day.

Ah, Ubuntu have updated their packages now, thanks - I did have a virtualbox repository set up which was probably legacy.

Thanks.
