camera and microphone not recognized

Post by dyna-girl »

I installed 1.6 on my macbook pro running leopard, and installed XP in the virtualbox.

I'm having difficulties trying to get the built in cam and mic to recognize inside XP. Any suggestions?

thanks,

:)

I got the camera (iSight) recognized but having problems with the drivers. Any suggestions?

(I got iSight recognized by going into the VBs settings for USB and enabling USB 2.0.)

Google iSight drivers xp and you'll find them for download (NOT with Internet Explorer).
I still have trouble keeping USB devices connected. May you tell me if it works afterwards?

You get quite some requests, but few answers in this forum, even to seemingly easy-to-answer (yes or no) questions...could be a better "community"...

I really can't believe that nobody else has tried using an iSight yet?
A simple "yes" or "no" post would help me a lot...

I have a macbook but your requests and search will end up no where.

The only way to get it to work is if you use Parallels 3.

Sorry to bear this news...

Excuse my ignorance, but how do you install these drivers? I have a new iMac with iSight, and I tried pointing the Win XP Add Hardware Wizard to those drivers, but I was told that they didn't contain any info about my device. Any help appreciated.

I am sorry to tell you that they are useless...

while they were working when i first installed them after rebooting guest, the isight keeps going in and out, like if you plug and unplug it over and over...

back to square one i guess.

No. It seems that iSight is not recongnized buy VM.
I've a post there of someone even tried to install drivers for iSight from the boot camp CD, but without success.
Me, I tried to install my old Logitech Messenger (image + mic), and it works well with Live Messenger for example.
Install without any pb.

Using VB 2.02 on MacBookwith OS X 10.5.5, running XP-SP3 (all latest patches), and having installed the Apple BootCamp driver for builtin iSight, I get the same problem. The camera keeps disconnecting every 2 seconds or so. :-(

Can anyone at the VB development team please advise if/how the built-in iSight could be supported?

TIA,

Ron
