Shrink view when in Server 2008 VM

Post by kreasons »

We're running into a weird issue on version 4.3.26 of Virtual Box running on an OS X host. The guest OS is Server 2008 R2 x64 and what happened is an employee accidentally hit an unknown combination of keys and now we're getting this shrinkd window when we attempt to boot the VM (attached below). We are however able to get it to boot with a normal resolution if we boot into safe mode and can also access the VM via remote desktop with a normal resolution. We're at the point where we may have to resort to redeploying the image as we can't figure out what may be causing the issue. Any thoughts on a fix? We've already tried the obvious (changing between the different views, uninstall/reinstall the latest and greatest virtual box. Thoughts?

As a wild guess? Make sure Maximum Guest Screen Size is set to Automatic in the VirtualBox preferences in the Display tab.
OSX, Linux and Windows Hosts & Guests
There are three groups of people. Those that can count and those that can't.
