Windows XP - Mac OSX host Network driver issues

Hey Guys,
So I have been searching these forums for a while now and I can't quite find a solution to the issue I am using.
The VM I am running is Windows XP which is a copy of a laptop that we had at work that we needed to migrate to VMWare. One of the users who needs access to the VM uses a Mac and since VMWare does not have Mac compatibility I turned to Virtualbox. I copied over the VMWare folder and installed the XP machine in Virtualbox on the Mac, but I have been having issues connecting to the Internet.
Originally the network device that was selected was the Intel PRO/1000 MT Dekstop (82540EM), a couple users had recommended switching that to the PCnet-FAST III. I tried that and while that got an Ethernet Device to display in device manager, I still cannot get it to connect to the internet. In XP there is an issue with the driver, but when I downloaded the driver from Intel for the Pro/1000, I could not get it to load as a virtual CD.
Anyone have any ideas? If I left something out or my description was not clear, let me know. Also, if I missed a similar topic that answers my question, a link would be greatly appreciated.
