Hi,
I want to do a dns proxy in my guest OS, then my host will send dns query to my guest.
I just get the dynamic ip for host, guest (the virtualbox is bridge mode) from router, I need set the dns of host to point to the ip of guest.
In this case, how to get a fix ip for guest which is a DNS proxy?
Do I need change the virtualbox's mode? or add another net interface?
thanks

That is not a VM question - being a VM doesn't change the procedure in any way.
Any guest OS can be configured to use a static IP. You simply turn off the DHCP configuration (dynamic IP assignment) feature inside the guest and manually tell it what IP to use. The reason for doing it doesn't matter.
As to VM settings, NAT mode isn't good for server type applications, so assuming you need Internet access that would mean you need to use bridged networking. It's up to you to ensure that the IP is consistent with the outside network, and to configure other PCs.
