Can't eject external drive after running guest from it
Can't eject external drive after running guest from it
I have a 2TB external drive that I store the virtual disks for all my guest OS's on. I start VirtualBox and use a guest OS, then I shutdown the guest and close VirtualBox. After this I cannot eject the external drive safely from Windows 7. It says the disk is still in use.

Unless there are VirtualBox processes still running, that would have to be a host OS issue or an issue with other resident processes. Typical reason would be antivirus trying to scan your huge VDI files.
Which virtual disk format are you using? IMHO this problem would be exacerbated by choosing VHD format, because Win7 and later recognize that format and may try to scan or index the contents.
