Hi I wanted to test VB and after installing and rebooting computer when I wanna start any VM(Windows or Linux guest) I'm getting:

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Name of VM.

No error info.

Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)

I tried to reinstall and anything I found in Google for this code but nothing works

Pls help.

PS. I used both 4.x and 5b1 versions same on both.

The more recent versions of Virtualbox have security hardening, which may be interfered with by unsigned programs and quirky Microsoft updates on the host. See viewtopic.php?f=6&t=66639 for the unsigned programs issue, or viewtopic.php?f=1&t=67613#p320098 for the MS updates issue.

A quick test to see if you have bigger issues than these is to try Virtualbox version 4.3.12, the last version before the security hardening came on-line. The caveat with this and earlier versions is that you need to make sure your host is and remains free of malware.
