Hallo together,
my (real)-computer has a big harddisc wich is parted in two partitions, C: and D:, where the D:-partition is the data-partition. The operating system is Win 7 ultimate.
I installed a vm and defined a part of the C:-partition as bootdisc. It works well. But now, i relized, that i'd like to use the data-partition of the real-computer also with my vm. How can i connect the "D:"-partition of the real computer as a "D:"-partition of the vm? I cannot find the way how to do...
Is there anyone to help me? Thanks a lot... and sorry for my bad englisch.. I'm a german...

Re: How can i connect a local partition afterwards?
I could go into a long explanation, but I won't. I'll just say: don't.
For some reason, new users seem to be drawn to the idea of raw disk access as moths are drawn to a flame... and with the same end result.
If you want the guest to have access to some host files then define a shared folder. Ideally one that doesn't allow the VM to access the entire drive, at least not unless you plan on having all your private information posted on wikileaks. If the guest app needs access to all of your host files then one wonders why it needs to be in a VM at all.
