Hi I'm trying to get Win8.1 running on a MacOS host using Yosemite 10.10.2.
Whenever I start the VM the Win8.1 boot screen does not appear, but instead displays the screen attached.

I'm using the following host
MacbookAir (early 2014)
Processor: 1.4GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 4GB
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536MB
I've also attached the VMlog from the last attempt to run the VM.
Any help would be appreciated.

Andrew, where did you get the "SW_DVD9_SA_Win_Ent_8.1_64BIT_Eng_Intl_-3_MLF_X19-84072.ISO"?

It was downloaded from the MS Partner Site by our sys admin back in January 2015.

I've never seen a screen such as yours. Perhaps someone will come along that has.

You have another problem, not enough free memory:
00:00:00.881430 Host RAM: 4096MB total, 1590MB available\
00:00:00.962029 RamSize <integer> = 0x0000000080000000 (2 147 483 648, 2 048 MB)\

It's possible that the lack of memory that Martin pointed out could cause your screen issue. You could try changing the guest RAM to 1024 and see if it helps.

I would also check the MD5 checksum of the ISO.

Thank you for your help! The issue was a corrupt .ISO file - doh.
I compared the checksum of the .ISO file using md5 and identified a difference.
Downloaded a new version which worked as expected.

That's good, but you can't ignore Martin's point either. You shouldn't allocate more than 1GB RAM to this guest on this host.

Yes, I forgot to say thank you to Martin as his suggestion was the first thing I changed to correct the memory error.
Thanks
