Cannot create VBOX

Hi, I am completely new to Virtualbox. just downloaded and installed the software.
Then I created my first virtualbox, mainly with default parameters, to install a Win 7 operating system (Host is also Win7).
The I started the VBox.
According to the documentation, on first start a wizard should ask me to provide a source for the operating system. This did not happen, rather I got the error message:

I then tried to supply the disk image manually by pointing cd-drive of the virtual machine to my operating system DVD image - same error message.

Looks like noone has an idea
There must be something very simple missing, as the installation process fails on the very first step?

The OP has the symptoms of host OS certificate database corruption, as has been well discussed in this forum already.

I think I've lost track of which symptoms are security related and which are certificate corruption. I'll try and be more careful.
