can't run windows 10 (both home & enterprise)

Hi,
just going nuts. Virtualbox 4.3.26.98988 and related extension pack correctly installed on a Celsius W530 (Xeon processor).
All VM (Windows 7 and older) working fine. Can't find a way to run something newer (Windows 8, or like this case Windows 10 Home Preview)
Getting 0x0000000A error (other times 0x00000005). Just checked Intel Vt-x setting in BIOS (see attach) and log shows VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED error (see attach).
Downloaded the file from MS yesterday and working fine on another Fujitsu PC (older anyway).
Can anyone just give me a clue?
Thanks in advance

Already read that post:
1) run coreinfo and response is OK
2) vt-x is enabled in bios (see attach)
3) this part looks dubious to me, but aside from trying to disable Symantec (my av) I didn't notice anything strange. Doesn't that affect all VM, anyway? In this case, the other shouldn't run too? Not sure...
4) mine complies since version who introduced windows 10 template

Anyway thanks for the quick reply

I finally looked at your log. When you said…
Just checked Intel Vt-x setting in BIOS (see attach) and log shows VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED error
I thought you meant you had no VT-x. I don't actually see anything in the log that explains why Windows 10 won't start for you. Perhaps someone else will.

AFAICS this isn't about 64bit support, or VT-x, both of which are working according to the log.

Try enabling the PAE/NX option in the VM settings.

I'll give it a try.
Thanks :)

Tried the PAE/NX setting but it didn't work either...
Anyway I'm happy this problems looks not so easy to fix :?:

In the guest settings for Operating System, do you have 64bit options?

can you post the actual error you are getting instead of just the error code?

I guess you meant this. So the answer is yes
error.PNG
error.PNG (33.65 KiB) Viewed 4166 times
And this the actual error

Thanks

A few things have dawned on me. The .iso you are using "Windows10_TechnicalPreview_x64_IT-IT_10041.iso seems to be one of the "leaked" .isos. Did you check the sha-1 value before you installed it? Another thing is your topic title, there is no (home and enterprise) versions. There is just 32bit or 64bit Technical Preview.

The last thing is, the vbox.log you posted shows the guest shutting down normally. Does it always crash or just sometimes?

I downloaded the file from the official microsoft site, at least 4 or 5 times in these months

Yes and it is fine. As I mentioned before this same iso was used on another physical pc (a Fujitsu Desktop E-85) and it works fine

Sorry for the misunderstanding. What I meant was that I've tried both Home and Enterprise (technical preview if you prefer) versions and they both land the same result. I posted just the data for the technical preview, but I have info and logs about the home version as well
loukingjr wrote:The last thing is, the vbox.log you posted shows the guest shutting down normally. Does it always crash or just sometimes?
It just stop with the last screenshot I've posted but after that I've tried more than once to reboot (as asked) to no avail. So generally, after that I usually force the shutdown

Hope to have answered all your questions in details

okay thanks. What I was saying is there is no home or enterprise versions. there is no "both". It still doesn't answer the question in your first post why you can't install anything newer than Windows 7.

Ok, maybe I'm wrong and used the wrong words but:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcen ... al-preview

is enterprise

and

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview-iso

is not enterprise (so I guessed it was home version, but that's my opinion)

In any case, they're two different versions, or not ?
