guest machine vanished after virtualbox upgrade
I upgraded VirtualBox to 4.3.26 from a previously installed (fairly recent) version on my Windows 8.1 (64-bit) host. After the upgrade, the VirtualBox window showed no guest machines. It's as if I had installed VirtualBox from scratch for the first time. Prior to the upgrade, I had a Linux Ubuntu guest with a lot of software installed, and I would like that guest back. Any idea where it went and how to recover it?

Re: guest machine vanished after virtualbox upgrade
Did you look in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\? If so, use the VirtualBox "Add Machine" menu item to register the machine.
If you changed the default machine folder location, look there.

You can do a computer-wide search for *.vbox When you find it, double-click it. That should re-register your guest.

Thanks, searching my folders for *.vbox solved the problem.
