Trackpad problem

Hello I am running a Macbook white from 2009, 4gb of RAM 2.0Ghz processor.
I am using Virtualbox 4.3.26

I installed the extension pack

I have so far installed and tried using both Windows XP and Windows 7. Upon installing both I have installed guest additions.

Everything works smoothly and perfectly as can be. However both Virtual Machines have the same problem.

That problem is that whenever I move my cursor using my trackpad, it is as if I have pressed the right click button (bringing up a right click menu). This occurs everytime I move the cursor again. This in fact makes it very difficult to effectively press the left mouse button.

I've tried re-installing guest additions. Re-installing the extension pack. I don't know what else to do. I've even tried changing the device from USB multitouch, to USB tablet and then to PS2. I believe I've done everything so don't know whats left.

I hope someone can help me.

Thanks

Try disabling mouse integration (Host+I). See if that helps.

All that happens when I do that is the mouse doesn't work at all.

well the mouse will work. you just have to click inside the guest.

I spoke too soon, the problem has returned after clicking on the desktop

When I disable the capture all that happens is the cursor just stays in one place on the screen and I get the use of my mac cursor again.

If I then click in the guest it says I have clicked in and this will cause the virtual machine to capture the mouse.

Then I'm back to the same problem again.
Everytime I move the cursor it activates a right click action.

Actually something has changed, before I could freely move between my guest window and outside of it, but now the cursor is stuck inside the guest window.
But still I have the same probel of the right click menu appearing everytime I move.

I wasn't sure if disabling mouse integration would work or not. Did you try turning down the sensitivity of the trackpad? Did this just start btw?

to "unlock" the cursor, just press Host+I again.

This is my first time using virtual box so I suppose you could say I've always had this problem.

Just tried the trackpad sensitivity as you said and it didn't have an effect.

I personally have never run into your problem. Not on a Windows, Linux or OSX PC with a Trackpad. Hopefully someone else may see your post and have an idea.

I forgot to ask, are you using any third party gestures program on your MacBook? If so, try disabling it.

Hi, I have the same problem but with an optical mouse. Is there a way to fix this?
My host computer is Win7 and guest is QNX with Photon UI.

QNX with Photon is not officially supported in VirtualBox.
