I have an issue with multicast to my Win x64 8.1 host. On another Win7 x64 I saw the same issue. We have an application that use a multicast to communicate with multiple embedded devices. This application runs on the Win host machine. This function fine until virtual box was installed. After the installation it don’t work anymore. Even in Wireshark I’m not able to see the multicast messages anymore.
I tried playing with the interface metric, but that seems to be no solution. Even removing the virtual box network adapter, and later virtual box at all does nog solve the issue. It look like a driver is installed that snoops the multicast messages. Is there any way to remove virtual box complete, including this drivers? Or is there another workaround (multicast is prio 1, but if possible I want to keep virtual box to).
I’m not sure with version of virtual box introduced the problem, I updated many times and my current version is 4.3.26.
Best Regards
