Any suggestions how to get VB to allow 64 bit VMs on a win 7 64 bit host???? when creating any VM it will only give options for a 32 bit OS. I am also not able to get any larger display than a 640 X 480 but the size of the windows opened are larger than the 640 X 480.
the host machine is a Win 7 Pro 64 bit OS on an I7-4770K @3.5GHz with 16GB ram and 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760.
No 64 bit VMs available in a 64 bit Win 7 host

thanks for the tip..... i did check the bios and it says no support for VT-x and unfortunately it did not give any way to enable this feature. I did look around other sections of the menu but was not able to find anything that would lead me to be able to change the setting. So i guess im stuck with 32 bit VMs. Which isnt really that big a deal since im just learning linux anyway.
I was able to get the video settings fixed when i did an update on the distro i installed.

Welcome but, your CPU does support VT-x. Is this a Toshiba laptop?

no its not a lappy .... its an ASUS Z87 PRO MB in a desktop. if there is something i am missing please let me know. interesting thing is that the BIOS says no support for the VT-x but the ASUS AI suite software in windows says it does work.

well as the link mentions, some av software and others hog VT-x such as Bitdefender for one.
