OK I think I have this figured out. The XML file you posted in two parts (zipping is allowed btw) looks nothing like the Virtualbox.xml file I had posted about earlier. But it does look very much like a version 3.1.2 guest's xml file I have at home. When this guest was made, were you running a version 3 or earlier of Virtualbox? If so, the .vbox file did not exist, and I think it was all XML's. Your guest does not have a .vbox file.

If you make a "full clone" (which you would want to do) the clone will be in the version 4 format with a .vbox file. You will get a copy of the machine with different UUID's. Might cause re-activation issues. You will get a new hard disk for the cloned guest. You'll also need enough host disk space for the new hard disk file. The new cloned guest will have its own folder, in the folder designated in the GUI, File menu, Preferences, General, Default Machine Folder. Set this default folder to the drive you want the guest to be on before the clone is made. (If you want the new clone on the same host hard disk the original guest is on now and you do not have enough room for the new clone's virtual drive copy, post back and I will tell you how to make a clone without copying the virtual drive.)

Understood

Then I would like now a good tutorial to manage UUID's from the virtual machines.

Is possible to change the UUID from a virtual machine ?

Best Regards
Thanks a lot.

XP doesn't care about the UUID of a virtual machine. It might care about the UUIDs of the disks, but no, it is not practical for you to change them.

Not a problem anyway. The worst that will happen is that XP will need to be reactivated, so just do that.

FWIW, cloning a guest does not affect the original guest. So if you have trouble re-activating the clone, your original guest is still activated and good.
