Hi I downloaded and install virtual box, set it up and was going to install win 8 , however i get an error everytime. I have win 7 64 bit and attempting to put win 8 64 bit inside the vb.

I have attached the 2 files that are asked for.the log file is compressed because it was too big to upload at 170 KB's

Did you change the OS type in the vm settings?

Looking at the log, "Windows 8" was selected as the OS type. My guess is that he's actually trying to install Windows 8.1, and should have chosen that as the OS template.

mpack is right chose win 8 initially , once I changed that to win 8.1 installed no problem
