WinXP on (k)Ubuntu Hardy: lock up with shared folders
Posted: 27. May 2008, 00:32
This is a somewhat recent development: If I try to access my shared folders within XP to my (k)Ubuntu Host, the entire computer locks. I have to press the reset button to reboot.
I am running kde4 on the Hardy machine and all was well about maybe a month ago.
If I attempt to access my /home/"user"/ folder while running XP in VB (like with Dolphin or Konqueror) the same thing happens.
If I minimize the XP VB and try to run sometime liek firefox, the machine also locks.
I have Symlinks in my /home/"user"/ folder and they used to work: might this be causing the issue now?
I can't even attempt to open /home/"user"/ so I can't choose a directory that does not have symlinks in it.
I created a folder in /home/VboxShared/ and tht shares fine, although if I open something in the host machine, it all locks.
I also have (k)Ubuntu Gutsy with kde3 on the same machine (different disk) and XP runs fine (different vdi file).
