How do I free up disk space in existing image?

Hi,
I'm running an image that was created by VMware converter under virtualbox. The image was quite large and since then I have deleted a lot of stuff. But that space doesn't get freed up to the host computer, it shows up as free space in the guest.
Is there any way to convert the image to dynamic sizing? My host disk is filling up and I need to free up some space from the guest.
