VirtualBox bridge driver make the network card fail

Hi, first of all I'm sorry for my english.

I have Windows 8.1 for a few months, and from the beginning I'm having troubles with bridge driver and Windows 8 fast boot.
When I boot Windows after a "hybrid shutdown" my Wifi adapter don't works and I've to reboot the system to make it work. If I disable VirtualBox Bridget Networking Driver on Wifi adapter then it works perfect but of course I don't have internet on my Guest Machines.

Is there any fix for this?, I've waited for a fix trying every update, but on all versions got the same problem.

Thanks and greetings!!

Virtualbox "Bridged" and Wifi adapters are known not to always play nicely together. They can be good playmates - my Lenovo Thinkpad's wireless works fine with Bridged. But the wifi drivers have to be written to allow bridging. if they aren't then Bridged is not going to work for your Wifi adapter.

Also, a quick bit of googling shows this: http://superuser.com/questions/496241/a ... d-shutdown saying this (see Zuck's answer):

Might be Virtualbox, might not, may just have to live with it, may have to see if there's newer drivers for your wifi.

Also, if all you want is for your guest to browse the web, and you don't have web servers or shared folders or some other such that you need to acces in your guest from other computers in your house, then use NAT instead of Bridged. Shouldn't be any issues with NAT & Wifi. (You can then set up a Virtualbox Guest Additions shared folder just to transfer files between host & guest)

Thanks for reply!

It's a shame, but sometimes i need bridged connection for test servers and Nat didn't work. The best i can do is disble the bridge and enable the driver only when I go to use it...

Anyway I thinks is working now. I've downloaded an updated driver from the Intel web instead from Dell and for now seems to be working. Maybe is somethinkg with Bluetooth because in old driver was together and with the new driver has separated the bluetooth driver and the Wifi driver.

Greetings!!

Sometimes a new driver will fix the problem, because the trouble is often caused by the bridge filter driver not working well with the NIC driver. They have to work together to allow the vm to share the NIC with the host.
