Yosemite, USB Ethernet, bridged networking woes

Post by TallPaulB »

Hi All,

Hope someone can help with this as it's causing me no end of problems.

The basic problem is that starting a guest, any guest with the network bridged to my USB ethernet adaptor causes the ethernet adaptor to stop working (both for the guest and the host). I lose all internet access until I shut the guest down and unplug / replug the ethernet adaptor.

I've tried googling for this problem but can't find anything relevant.

It sounds like you created either a blank or specific USB Filter for your Ethernet adapter in the guests. it captures the adapter when you start the guest and releases it when you shutdown the guest. You need to remove/reconfigure the USB filter. Does NAT work?
