I run VirtualBox on two windows 7 system; One at home and one at work. The guest OS is Windows XP, required to run a legacy CAD application.
As my actual data is quite small ( a few tens of MB ) I was thinking of creating a second virtual disk, stored on a USB drive.
Is it reasonable to then use this USB drive in both PCs? Having my data on a small virtual disk also makes backing it up easier.
If there is a more appropriate way to solve this problem without having to move Gigabytes of data around, I'd love to hear about it.
Mike.
Can I copy (share) a virtual disk between VMs?

Possibly, but why so complicated? Just create a shared folder on the USB drive and store your stuff in that. Yes, shared folders can be located on removable drives.

And there we have the more appropriate way

Thanks, of course that make far more sense, and my data is visible natively in other host systems.
Many thanks.
