Hi everybody!
I am using VBox on Win7 SP1 since several years now and never had any severe problems. But since 3 days I am not able to start any of my VMs anymore. I get the same error message every time about VBox being unable to open a session for the to be started VM. The exit code 1 is always the same.
Currently I am using VBox 4.3.22, but even upgrading to 4.3.24 or 4.3.26 does not make any difference, the error message stays the same. I already removed some of the latest Windows updates, but even that doesn't change anything.
Find the startup logs attached. I am running out of ideas why this is happening and I really need the VMs for my work.
For completeness I must say that exactly the same VMs with the same VBox version run perfectly on a different machine with Windows Vista. So it must be something related to my Window 7 installation.

Re: No VM starts anymore
- Try to revert back to 4.3.12 and see if that works.
- Take a look at the discussion: Windows 4.3.26 Specifically for errors due to Security.

That did the trick. Many thanks for the hint.socratis wrote:Try to revert back to 4.3.12 and see if that works.
But I really wonder why 4.3.22 did work before for several weeks without any problem. Windows is becoming more scary with every new day...

Re: No VM starts anymore
Either a Windows update or an update in your antivirus, firewall, or anything like that that interferes with the system could have caused this. I would head to the thread that I gave you above, post my configuration and the VBoxStartup.log, so that the developers can take a look at it...
