iX Developer 2.10 Installation Problems

Hi all!
I'm currently trying to install Beijer's iX Developer 2.10 on a Virtual Machine running Windows 7 Pro. Everytime I attempt to install the program I end up with the Blue Screen of Doom once i reach about the 80% mark, I believe around the time it says registering components.
Afterwards the computer goes into an infinite loop of blue screen of doom upon trying to get past the windows 7 logo.
I've tried multiple configurations of RAM and also have attempted changing the graphical settings and changing the memory settings in the actual vm windows.
Im running virtual box on a windows xp sp3 computer with a bout 4 GB RAM
Windows 7 Pro 32 Bit
128 MB Video Memory (previously 28 MB)
1GB Ram (have tried 2 as well)
I can provide a dump file if needed.
Any suggestions?
Update. Upon adding the additional video memory the program went noticeably further in the installation. getting to the part where it needs to register its modules, then went back to the blue screen.

Are you saying that you get a BSOD in the guest or the host?
If the former, then provide a VM log file of a problem session: right click VM in GUI, select "Show Log", save "VBox.log" (only) to a file, zip file and attach here. Make sure the VM is shut down before you collect the log of the session.

Answer to my first question please?
Assuming you mean the guest, it would be useful to have a screenshot of the BSOD screen too - turn off auto restart in the guest My Computer | Properties | Advanced | Startup and Recovery.

I'm sorry I meant on the guest is where I've received the BSOD. I cannot provide a screenshot for whatever reason. The screenshot function is not working on my comp.

The screenshot function is working - the rest of your PC wouldn't be working if that wasn't the case. Alt+PrtScr will capture the current window rather than the full screen. If you mean that the PrtScr key is broken then you can use the onscreen keyboard: type <start><search bar>"osk"<enter>.
You
will need a paint package or something to paste the image into. Windows Paint if you must!
I'm afraid that I will require this information, so best find a way.
| Edit: Actually, I had a vague memory of another tool you could use, which I just tested on a Win7 and it works fine: run the snipping tool, by typing <start><search bar>"snipping tool". Click the little arrow beside "New", capture a rectangular region of the screen, save as a png and then attach the png here. |

Just curious after looking at the website for iX 2.10. Is there any reason to believe it will install and run in a VM?

Here is an example in my Windows XP SP 2 Virtual Machine. I get the same thing on all the VMs. 7 Pro, 7 Pro SP1 XP SP2
Is There a reason you would think it shouldn't run?
First time that Guru Meditation has kicked in btw.

Have you enabled 3D acceleration and installed the guest additions with the proper drivers to be installed?
Note: Windows 7 should not need the start in safe mode to install the wddm drivers.
Other than that I would contact the publisher of the software and ask their advise.

Well I only had one reason which was the software in question seems to allow low level access to hardware which of course a virtual machine won't have.
now I have a second reason which is it fails to install in all your guests.

I was going to download the trial and see what I could see but they want info I'm not willing to give them.

is there away to allow the program itself or virtual box to access that low level hardware? maybe access it through host access or something? I have enabled 3d Acceleration. Guest additions are all installed.

You should understand not all programs will install and run in a virtual machine. I'll think about downloading the trial again but I suspect it won't work.
As Perry mentioned. You could ask their tech support. I haven't seen a forum for them.

Your screenshot shows XP, the log file you supplied was for Win7 (32bit). I'd be grateful if you would concentrate on one instance of the problem rather than jump about.
Stop 0x7F is an "unexpected kernel mode trap". In other words the software installed a device driver which did something peculiar. I don't know what this "iX Developer" does - what kinds of driver would it need to install? What kind of hardware access would it need that isn't provided by the guest OS?
