Re: Vm Ext pack error
I take back what I said. When you installed VirtualBox did you just move the application to the external drive? If so none of the default paths will be correct.

Re: Vm Ext pack error
I tried to explain the best I could. VirtualBox has certain default locations it expects when you install it. So it installs certain files and folders in certain places. When you try and install it to a different drive, some of those locations will be wrong.
It's hard to believe you are running your laptop with so little HD space you can't install VirtualBox normally. If your concern is the space VMs take those can be located anywhere.

Re: Vm Ext pack error
A sub folder simply means "not the root folder". I.e. create a folder on the drive you want to use. Make sure the extpack download is inside that folder when you try to install it.Thunderstorm79 wrote:could u explain what u mean by sub folder
Please note that I do not intend to respond again until I see that VM log file I asked for :- right click the VM in the GUI. Select "Show Log". Save "VBox.log" (only) to a file. Compress that file and attach it to a message here. Make sure the VM is fully shut down before taking a log.
