Hello
I have downloaded 3 files from the MCT server, the files are respectively (.vhd) (.vsv) and a (.vmc) but when I try to open the .vhd file on virtual box it gives me the following error :
Failed to open the hard disk file C:\Users\Y\Desktop\azucarNuevoDisco\2277C-DEN-CL1.vhd.
Parent medium with UUID {c2aed9c8-3ddd-d911-80f7-ae65e840208a} of the medium 'C:\Users\Y\Desktop\azucarNuevoDisco\2277C-DEN-CL1.vhd' is not found in the media registry ('C:\Users\Y/.VirtualBox\VirtualBox.xml').
Result Code: E_FAIL (0x80004005)
Component: Medium
Interface: IMedium {05f2bbb6-a3a6-4fb9-9b49-6d0dda7142ac}

Callee RC: VBOX_E_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND (0x80BB0001)
I read somewhere that I have to merge the files using Virtual PC or Hyper but none of them worked for me... I need to get this homework done, any help would be much appreciate!

Re: Parent medium with UUID Failed to open the hard disk fil
A .vhd file has to be associated with some kind of Operating System such as Windows. Without more info about what the files are, how you are suppose to use them it's impossible to help.

ctrepo.ur.ac.rw/Doc/MCSE/vpc/2277C/ is not a web address. any other hints?
I know you are trying for some Microsoft Certification. Is Windows Server 2003 supposed to be on the .vhd file?

Re: Parent medium with UUID Failed to open the hard disk fil
Well, as you first mentioned it seems this was setup for VirtualPC or Hyper-v and unless there is a VirtualBox alternative set of files there's not much you can do. Unless someone else knows of a way to convert them. There is no way to directly import them into VirtualBox that I know of.
