Hi,

I have been getting this error since I setup a new PC with an SSD.
There are several similar errors reported but none seem to apply to my case.

I am attaching both the window with the error message and the full logfile.
I have tried disabling the AV (Bitdefender) but there's no effect.
Host is Win8.1, fully patched.
The VM doesn't even start so I can't really talk about a Guest OS, but in case, that would be WinXP (why? Because my kids have some "ancient" CD from school which don't quite run in Win 8.1)

Any suggestion?

You have multiple issues with "untrusted" 3rd party programs, not just your antivirus. Two of them that I quickly glanced at are 1) a theme changer (uxtheme.dll) and 2) TeamViewer (tv_w32.dll). Take a look at Windows 4.3.26 Specifically for errors due to Security and read the first post. Either try some of the test builds or try reverting back to 4.3.12. In any event, post your symptoms in that thread, because developers tend to follow that specific thread more than individual ones.

I posted a message on the forum you suggested.
The uxtheme.dll appears to be from Windows 8.1: I have no special theme changer software.
I tried also killing Teamviewer, but no effect.

Let's see if they can help me ...

No, it is not. This is a 3rd party DLL. You need to uninstall the offending software. I don't know which one it may be. It may have come bundled with some "other" software. But it is definitely not a Windows system file.

Actually, uxtheme.dll is a part of Windows (from XP to at least through Win7, but I think later too). It's part of the theme manager. Typically this DLL restricts users to themes provided by Microsoft.

The problem comes when people use 3rd party hacked versions of it to expand the available desktop themes. Patching ruins the certificate and makes the DLL look suspect to malware checkers. In fact it might be malware, since I've no doubt that freebie theme patches are an obvious way to get people to install malware on their PCs.

OK, my bad. I should be researching more before posting.

I'm just providing technical background. Essentially your comment was correct. When you see "uxtheme.dll [lacks WinVerifyTrust]" then you know that uxtheme.dll has an invalid certificate, which usually means it has been hacked. However in this case I'm also seeing other system DLLs lacking valid certificates.
