Hi I'm fan of VirtualBox and enjoying all the fantastic function on my MacBook Pro (MBP) & MacBook Air (MBA).
Recently I've got new VirtualBox version (4.3.26) release notice from on my MBP.
As usual I click download image file and start install. Install the new version are fine.
But after choose my account and trying to logon then progress bar freeze on 50% and no longer be processed. No more!!
Here is my configurations,
- MBP 2014 15" 8G ram
- Using FileVault encryption option ON
- Tied to Active Directory
- OS : Yosemite 10.10.2
- Which OS on VirtualBox : nothing were installed just application only (I'm suppose to install windows after upgrade are done.)
I've trying to solve this problem as following but nothing happen,
1. PRAM reset (Push OPTION+CMD+P+R and listen chime two times) -> same
2. Disk Utility then Verify Disk * Repair Disk using Command+R -> no error
3. CTRL+SPACE+ENTER during progress bar hold status. -> spinning ball shown and nothing happen with normal cursor
4. Prevent login items and Finder windows from opening when you log in (After clicking the Log In button in the login window, hold down the Shift key.) -> no luck
5. verbose mode (Ctrl+V) -> after couple of page text are scrolled and progress bar freeze at the 20%.
6. delete library cache and boot cache in single user mode -> no luck
I CAN logon using 'Guest User' account. (I think this is important.)
Anyone has further suggestions?
Regards,
Jason

I've never used FileVault so this is speculation on my part. I would try disabling FileVault, try installing VirtualBox again then re-enabling FileVault.

Is it possible to destroy my data by Disable and re-enable action that you suggest?

As I said, I've never used FileVault but I doubt it would corrupt files. I don't know if FileVault is causing your problem.
