Resizing VM disk using Portable-VirtualBox

Post by CSS »

Hey guys,

I know Portable-VirtualBox is not a part of the official release and isn't necessarily supported here. I was hoping someone could assist me in resizing my dynamic disk size without having to hard install VirtualBox. I enjoy being able to run it portably.

Code: Select all

Microsoft Windows [Version 6.3.9600]
(c) 2013 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:\windows\system32>cd C:\Users\Craig\Documents\Portable-VirtualBox\app64

C:\Users\Craig\Documents\Portable-VirtualBox\app64>VBoxManage modifyhd C:\Users\
Craig\Documents\Portable-VirtualBox\data\.VirtualBox\Machines\Testing\Testing.vd
i --resize 102400
VBoxManage.exe: error: Failed to create the VirtualBox object!
VBoxManage.exe: error: Code REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG (0x80040154) - Class not registe
red (extended info not available)
VBoxManage.exe: error: Most likely, the VirtualBox COM server is not running or
failed to start.
Here, I'm trying to resize the disk to 100GB to no avail. Any ideas?

It's a fork, which means that for support you should go to the people who support it. That would not be us.
