Perhaps someone in this group can shed some light on this. I am running the most current edition (4.3.26) of VirtualBox in OS Yosemite. Recently I had some problems getting the virtual machine to open and run. Since I fixed that problem, I am getting the error message attached when I open up a piece of medical software which I have been able to successfully run for the past few years without a problem across the network. I have exhausted all of my support with the medical software company. Does anyone have any familiarity with this error message?
Thanks for your consideration.

Re: Microsoft jet error???
Uh, the section you posted this in is about running OSX Servers as a guest in VirtualBox. This post has nothing to do with that. From what I can see you are apparently running Windows XP as a guest in VirtualBox on a Mac host. Your question is about a particular software running in Windows. None of that has anything to do with VirtualBox.
You don't even name the "medical software" you are having an issue with. There are multiple pieces of software that utilize the Microsoft Jet Database engine so it's difficult to diagnose anything.

Re: Microsoft jet error???
One thing I'd try is go back to 4.3.12 or a later version of 4.2, say 4.2.16 or so, for Virtualbox. Yes, the security hardening issue is supposed to affect Windows Hosts, not Macs, but there may be something else wrong - there have been network glitches lately in addition to security stuff. Running XP in Virtualbox has been a solid thing for years and does not need the latest version, at least for XP - I don't know about the Mac host's OS requirements (Maybe LouKingJr or Socratis can chime in; they run Mac hosts).
Drop back to an earlier version, and be sure the guest has full network connectivity with your LAN - use Bridged to put the guest on the LAN with all your other networked PCs. Don't try to run the medical software through a Virtualbox shared folder, not designed for that kind of use; use a regular Windows/Mac shared folder instead. At that point Virtualbox is doing its job and any further issues would be with the medical software.

Re: Microsoft jet error???
According to the first post, OSX, VirtualBox and the mystery medical software were all working for years until there was a problem with the guest which the OP "fixed". I suspect the "fix" is at the root of the problem.

What does "across the network" mean? Does it mean that the data is in a network folder?
Because the error seems to me to imply that the database is locked (already open), which may simply be an incorrect reporting of a permissions problem. Perhaps repairing permissions on the OS X host will fix it.
