Windows 95 and Game graphics

Post by Gagarin »

I have managed to install Windows 95 into Virtualbox and it runs like a dream and now have a FULL Win 95 operating system!
The main reason for doing so is that I can finally run a Win95 game called Apollo 18 The Moon Missions by Aim Software which IS a Win95 Game.
The trouble I am having is to do with the games`s graphics - they are run by Motion Pixels MVI Aware - the main body of the game runs fine but will not include any graphics run by the Mvi Aware - The game says it should be run in 16 bit and 800 x 640 which I have all done !
Anyone have any ideas how I can solve this problem and finally get to go to the Moon?
Kind Regards

I'm going to guess that your issue is because the virtual video card presented to the guest is not very strong, and Windows 95 was never supported by Virtualbox, so nothing has ever been done to strengthen the video capabilities, like developing Guest Additions. See here: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=9918 for info on 95 & 98 in Virtualbox

If nothing gets you going, you could try DOSbox https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hvg ... edit?pli=1
