DeSynchronise Time from host

Hi
An old post points towards the ability to desynchronise time between the host and guest.
However, things seem to have moved on in the design of the application, xml files no longer exist and nor does the Windows service (at least on the version I'm using).
In modifying the .vbox file for the individual VM with the following snippet does not desynchronise the time any longer.
Is there now a new option that I cannot find?
I'm currently using 4.2.18 on a Windows 7 host, happy to upgrade should an option exist to desynchronise time.
