[Closed] Host cannot use youtube when VM running

I am new to VirtualBox, and this is my first VM setup. I am, of course having some problems.
I am running a Windows 8 host, and wished to create a Windows 8 guest. I have a separate key for the guest OS, and it installs fine. However, when the guest is running the host's network is semi-functional. I can access web sites, but services like Youtube do not work. The video freezes until I stop the guest VM.
I have the guest configured with a host-only adapter, but I have tried this with bridged as well. It is my hope that a host-only connection will allow the host and the guest to have their own private point-to-point link, while the host has access to the internet. I will probably want the guest to be able to access the internet later (just to verify licenses).
What might I be doing wrong here?
Edit: I could have swore that I made an edit earlier. I notice that the VM has its adapter address configured on the 10 network. The network settings for host-only have the DHCP server in the 192 range. This does not seen to be honored. A good first step would be to get the VM off of 10, since I already have 10 in use outside of VirtualBox.
