Photoshop not recognizing printer profile

System: Virtualbox running on SuSE Linux 13.1 with Windows XP Guest
Epson R3000 printer connected by USB and/or on a network
I have installed Photoshop CS5 in the Windows XP guest. Everything works fine except when I go to print. Even though I am able to set up the print dialog as when I ran Windows XP native, the profile is not recognized and the colors are not properly rendered. If the printer manages the colors, it prints fine (minus any fine tuning that would have been introduced by Photoshop).
Somewhere in the printer chain, from Photoshop, through Virtualbox, Windows XP, SuSE Linux, etc. the profile is either dropped or not recognized (again, even though I select it in the Photoshop print dialog).
Anyone encounter this?
