Mac crash on starting virtual box vm

Hi All,

I have MacBook Air 11' with following configuration

Model Name: MacBook Air
Model Identifier: MacBookAir7,1
Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 1.6 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Boot ROM Version: MBA71.0166.B00
SMC Version (system): 2.26f1



I have installed virtual box with following version.
4.3.24 r98716

I am trying to run boot2docker but Mac suddenly crashes and restarts.
I tried with Hortonworks Sandbox 2.2 Virtual box image and it still happens.
It happens every time i try to start those VMs.

We do not support 3rd party software. What happens if you run plain vanilla VirtualBox and create a VM. Does it still crash?

Just to add to what socratis said, Boot2Docker installs it's own version of VirtualBox (currently 4.3.20). You do not run Boot2Docker IN VirtualBox. If you want to try it you would have to remove the official versions of VirtualBox then try to install Boot2Docker on your MacBook if you dare.

I tried creating VM with Ubuntu ISO(ubuntu-14.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso) file but when i try to start the VM it Macbook Air crashes again.
Is there any configurations that i need to enable for virtual box ?
